We got to talk to Hope tonight, in China! The foundation where she is
(www.bethelchina.org) had me call at 8pm. A translator answered,
and told me a little about Hope, and then she put her on the phone.
I could hear her little breath, and it was so cute!!!! I tried out my
Chinese on her… I said, “Ni Hao, Li Hao. Watcheeyow Mama.
Wo Ai Ni, Li Hao.” That means, ” Hi Li Hao, My name is Mama. I
love you Li Hao”. Then she started saying “ma” again and again. It
was sooo precious! Then the translator got back on the phone, told
me more about her, and then she kept trying to grab the phone
again, so they put her back on. Then, I just started telling her in
English that I love her, and that we cant wait for her to come, and
stuff like that. They got back on and said that her eyes were rapidly
blinking when I was talking and she was nodding her head. They
told me more about her, and then put her on for the last time. She
kept saying “ma”. It was very very precious, and i felt sooo much
love for her. Then the director of the foundation got on the phone,
and said that this is very much God, and that they will be doing their
best to prepare her heart for us to arrive. She told me to call again
on November 8th. They took pictures of her talking to me, and
they are going to email them.
Here are the things they told us about her: she is quiet and gentle.
She is a serious baby, and doesnt smile too much. She likes to play.
She loves hearing stories read to her. She hates oranges, tolerates
apples, and likes all other fruit. She is not a picky eater. She sleeps
in a crib, and is not potty trained. She loves to be tickled. The only
word she can say is Ma. She walks, but is wobbly, because of her
eyesight. She loves to be cuddled, and she gives lots of hugs.
Sometimes she doesn’t want to go to sleep, so she will play with
the curtains in her crib. She likes toys with bells in them. She likes
to hold things in her hands. She is learning to climb stairs, and
zip a zipper.
Isn’t that cute??? We are so blessed!!!!!!
Thanks for all your encouragement and love!
